Plumber in Hillsborough

Hillsborough at a glance

Hillsborough is a community on a hill overlooking the Petitcodiac River, near the junction of Routes 910 and 114. It was an incorporated village until 2023 and is now part of the larger village of Fundy Albert.

What that means for your plumbing

Rural Albert County homes often depend on private wells and septic systems, and some sit on exposed hillsides that catch the wind. Pipes on the cold side of the house and in crawl spaces are the first to freeze. Insulation and sealed drafts help a lot; see frozen pipes.

Largest in the parish

Hillsborough is the largest settlement in Hillsborough Parish. For many residents, the nearest plumber may be in Moncton or Riverview, so clear details in your request help them come with the right parts and save a second trip.

Blanchard's Village

The community was first established around 1700 as Blanchard's Village by Acadian farmers, who lived here for some sixty years and built dykes along the river that are still in use. The area changed hands during the conflicts of the 1750s, and the settlement that followed grew into today's Hillsborough. Those old dykes are a reminder of how much water management matters by the Petitcodiac. For homes here, managing water means keeping it out of basements in spring, keeping well and septic systems in good order, and protecting pipes from the cold. A yearly check of the sump pump and pressure tank is a sensible habit.
